Beneath the pavement may be the beach – however, for Gisbert Stach, jewellery lies in the asphalt. Imbedded in the dark ground, extracted through the rubble and refined like a palaeontological find, the precious metal enters an indissoluble bond with the mundane. In this elective affinity, the jewellery only seemingly remains on the ground; when it is worn, it seems to tell a little story of the whence and whither.
